This is going to be the winter of major home improvements. We have found so many issues with our house this past month, where do I begin?
1. Master bathroom renovation begin, all wallpaper mostly down. Need spakle, sand, prime and paint.
2. Main bathroom - realized we had a major leak behind our shower tile because our linen closet started to get a funky mildew smell. This is the nasty us thing ever, I can't wait to fix this problem. Wall paper in there is down now too. Right now the glass shower doors have been taken down to expose the bad tile. This bathroom is officially unusable. Another major problem in this bathroom when we took off the base boards, BLACK MOLD! Ewww!!!!
3. Finally got the nasty mildew smell out of the guest bedroom. Once we discovered the linen closet had the mold and mildew issue, I moved all of our towels and linens into the guest room. Big mistake, some how the mildew got onto the carpet and I couldn't get the smell out. Finally after spraying lysol and arm and hammer carpet cleaner, I believe the smell is gone. I also have to say I love the Method scented oil air fresheners from Target. Now all you smell is Method ginger spice.
4. Two days before Christmas we discovered a gas leak in the garage furnace. Luckily we do not use it that often, however, one start of a car, and we have been gonners!!!! The furnace guy came out the day after Christmas and fixed the problem.
Needless to say, this has only fueled my house search!!! As annoying as all of these problems are, they are definetly helping my cause to put this house on the market as soon as spring hits!!!
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Hello, sorry for being so MIA these days. I think it all has to do with the nice weather this past week and the holidays all wrapped up into one. We have also been working on other home improvement projects lately, we have just been so busy! One thing I wanted to rave about is that I finally tried Bare Minerals foundations! Jeff went to the Cavs game last week with his friend Brett. I had to drive them downtown to the game since they had tickets to a suite and they were going to take a cab home for obvious reasons. I stopped off on my way home to Beachwood Mall and stopped in to the new Bare Escentuals store. I have heard so many great things about their make up so I sat for a make-up trial. The girl did such a fantastic job, and since I was in the mood to treat myself, I bought their start-up kit. I just love it, I can't say much about it. I was currently using MAC studio fix and I just felt it was making me break out so much and the color wasn't exactly right for my skin tone. Work has been brutal, I am really not looking forward to going in tomorrow. It's the start of a new accounting month and I am just not looking forward to diving into all of monthly reports and expense analysis. I am off to do The Firm before I hit the sheets, Desperate Housewives is a repeat so I won't be missing too much. I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!!
