Dedicated to my 1998 Pontiac Sunfire

I bought my car in December 1997 with my very first bonus check from my very first job out of college. I remember I was on a mission to buy a brand new convertible. I didn't care what the price was, I knew I just wanted one. In my infinite wisdom at
23 years old, I thought I deserved a brand new cool car after graduating from college. I saved my money and along with my first bonus check, I bought her. I also soon realized that I also bought myself a $400 a month car payment! Yikes! Definitely a lesson learned in so many ways but in the end, it was a great decision since she lasted so long!
My car was black with a black top and had charcoal grey cloth interior. A few years ago she had her roof slashed when I lived with my sister in Lakewood. Jeff and I had left for a St. Patty's Day weekend in Chicago and we returned to find that my car had been broken into. A slashed roof all for a few lousy CD's. I was so upset about and she was never the same after that. I had a new roof put on twice but apparently it was a little too snug for the car and it kept tearing at the corner every time we would put the top down. We still had a blast with her and would always put the top down as much as possible since we knew we were on borrowed time.
I will always remember my first car. Jeff and I have already decided that when we are old and grey that we will then get another convertible. She was a blast and will never forget our good times together.

  1. Awww...saying goodbye is never easy, is it? Looks (and sounds) like it was a great ride! But no worries--you have a fun new car to enjoy now! =)

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment!
