Finally a house to entertan in!

I had all of my college friends over this weekend to show off the new house. The main reason we picked the floor plan of this house was for the openness. It is truely an entertainers dream with the kitchen open to the great room. Our circle of friends has definetly grown with everyone's kids getting so big. It was a house full, I can honestly say this was the loudest our home has ever been with all of the kids running around. It was a good test drive to what we are going to have to child proof in the future!!! I have to laugh at the picture of the girls hanging out around the kitchen island with the wine glasses and sippy cups. A true sign of the times for us!

I think I found my Greatroom/kitchen Window Treatments

I am totally in love with grommet style panels and have also been looking for an espresso colored panel. You can imagine my excitement when I came across the Milano Panels from JC Penney!!!! I have been struggling to find something that will match the great room and the kitchen as well as come with a matching valance for the kitchen window. They are also having a sale this week so I may have to act now.

A few new updates to the house

We finally decided on a bathroom mirror for the main floor and put up the Target circle mirror above our bed. We ended up going with a iron mirror from Lowe's in the bathroom. I also bought a few bronze bathroom accessories from Target to go with the decor. I apologize in advance for the bathroom picture, it's hard to get a good angle in there. I am still undecided about the blog but thought I would share a few pics for now. Have a good night!

Blog Dilema

I am sure a few of you have been curious to why my blog has been down recently. Basically, I have been trying to determine if I want to keep this going. I love writing in it but my hubby...not so much. I can understand his concern that literally anyone can read this blog. I am a bit more outgoing and more willing to share at times, especially to perfect strangers. Surprisingly enough, my blog has been enjoyed by neighbors and co-workers by mere coincidence before they came to realize that they actually already knew me.
That being said, should I keep my blog? Should I keep it public? To subscribers only? You tell me. I have a site tracker on my blog so I do know who reads it. I have had visitors from South America to right here in Mentor, Ohio. Why do you read my blog? Curious if we will ever get pregnant? (Yeah, me too!) Curious to see how I will decorate our beautiful new home? Will I decide to find a new job? Or is it because you just think Jeff and I are just the most fascinating people you have ever met? :) Seriously, let me know if I should keep this going or retire it for my own reading pleasure later in life.

I have decided today that I need to make a few changes in my life for the better. I have been very unhappy in my job with a few good days sprinkled here and there just to keep me going. Yesterday was a BAD DAY and pretty much confirmed for me that it is not going to get any better until I start making some changes. I have gone down this path a few times in the past few months, visiting the popular job boards, sending out a few resumes, and even had a phone interview with a big company in the area. My heart wasn't really into it then. I wasn't ready to leave just yet. I really like the company I work for, I met my husband there, my sister works there, and I have met a lot of amazing friends, but I think it is time for a change. I just can not go through life at work feeling alone, afraid to make a mistake, overloaded and stressed all of the time. I do not like the person that I have become, insecure and not very confident in my abilities. I used to be such a confident person at work and I miss that person. At this point in my life I am willing to sacarafice salary for happiness, that is how much I miss being happy at work. So we shall see how things go, it's a very big and scary change for me. I worry just thinking about it, however, I think I am at a point where there is no looking back for me right now. Wish me luck!

We finally flagged down a snow plow! Jeff had to hike down to the sales office in a foot of snow to get his attention. He plowed away a little path just for us. We bolted to Panera shortly afterwards, we needed to get out of the house!!!

Snowed In!

What a crazy day it turned out to be! We woke up this morning to the snow literally coming down sideways. It was snowing and blowing so hard you could barely see anything outside! We have been officially hit with the "Blizzard of 2008". We were sent home from work early Friday due to the growing mess outside at 3pm and it hasn't stopped snowing since. Not only did we wake up to a lot of snow and wind, but also to our future neighbor's truck stuck in the middle of our street! Jeff went outside with a few shovels and attempted to dig them out. No such luck. After 30 minutes of trying to dig them out, Jeff and our neighbors treked their way back through the snow to our home totally defeated. Luckily I had a pot of coffee brewing so we sat at our kitchen table for two hours getting to know each other, drank coffee, and ate the occasional girl scout cookie. We really enjoyed their company. A family member finally came to pick them up. They were only able to drive to the top of our street to avoid getting stuck as well. We did notice at 7pm tonight they finally were able to get their truck out of the snow!!! The white blob in the middle of the second picture is our neighbors truck stuck in the snow at the top of our street.
As far as the rest of our day went, it was completely boring. We are officially snowed in with no hope in sight. We are the only people living on our cul-de-sac and apparently the snow plows think no one lives down here because they have not even touched out street. We are not quite sure what to do at this point. Should we call the city? The builder? We are going to wait it out one more night. If we do not receive any help here soon, we may be working from home on Monday!!!

HGTV Addict

I have become a major HGTV addict this winter. Not that I haven't been one in the past, it just seems like since I have home decor on my mind 24-7, I can really get my "fix" watching HGTV. I especially love this living room picture that Vern Yip did on "Deserving Design". This is the second picture that I have posted with chocolate/espresso drapes for a living room/great room space so you can start to see where I am leaning towards for drapes in our great room. I have been especially digging the grommet top panels lately too.
I also found another picture from "Find Your Style". Again, beautiful chocolate/espresso curtains.

Second Infertility Appointment

Three cycles have passed since my HSG test so it was back to our fertility doctor. Jeff and I have been feeling pretty defeated and negative lately about our TTC journey and were hoping for some answers. We are currently at 18 cycles TTC post miscarriage and has been really frustrating for us. I made a point before our appointment to contact my OBGYN. She had performed all of my hormone tests and I wanted to bring my results to our specialist. According to her I am fine, however, I wanted our specialist to review them for a second opinion. Thankfully he concurred that all of my hormones looked great and that I was definetly ovulating. All other hormones such as my FSH, progesterone and LH also looked good. The doctor even confirmed for us that Jeff was fine too which was great news for us.
His diagnosis so far is that we have "Unexplained Infertility". The good news is that we were able to get pregnant, the bad news is that we have had a lot of bad luck. Our next steps at this point is to try one more cycle of regular timed "baby dancing" and then I am to start taking Femera. I was thrilled to learn that I would not be going on Clomid. He had mentioned Clomid at our last appointment, however, said that Femera was less traumatic to your body and gave you less of a chance of multiples. Femera is supposed to improve your egg quality as well as increase the lining in my uterus which improves changes for implantation. So we will see how things go for us this cycle, if we are unsuccessful, we are going to give Femera and artificial insemination a shot. We left the appointment feeling a lot more positive about our outcome which was just what we needed.

Find Your Style - HGTV

Picture from HGTV's "Find Your Style"

I was watching "Find Your Style" last night with my parents and my sister and loved the room that they decorated. This show reminds me a bit of myself. I am trying to find my own style with my new blank canvas. It has been a lot more challenging than anticipated, (ie, barstool debacle). I don't want to make the wrong decor decision. Every color and decor item I pick I want to love and be happy with. I just need to take my time and try not to do it all at once. A challenge in it's own.
