My Love of the South

A few weeks ago we drove down to my inlaws condo in Myrtle Beach for the week. We had such a fantastic time and it was a much needed week of R&R. Jeff and I have both been pretty unhappy in our jobs lately so we planned it on a whim and are so glad we did. The weather was a little cooler than usual, however, we still spent several days walking down the beach or laying by the pool. We also decided to drive an hour and a half down to Charleston,SC. Jeff and I had been enjoying the John Adams documentary on HBO so we were excited to do some historic sight seeing. Charleston is such a beautiful city and a great place to visit and explore. We walked all around downtown looking at all the beautiful old homes, we walked through Battery Park, and also had lunch at Bubba Gump's. Anyone who really knows me, knows how much I love the South. There is just something about the history, the warmer climate, and the way people treat each other in the South. It just seems so much friendlier and relaxed down there. Not to mention the Charlotte and Triangle areas of North Carolina both have booming economies and neighborhoods. The cost of living down there is also reasonable. I always ask Jeff half jokingly how much it would cost to move our new home down there. In all seriousness, if it weren't for our friends and family, we would seriously consider moving down there. Lucky for me, my inlaws have a fantastic condo in Myrtle Beach where we can visit anytime we want, and I can live vicariously through my visits. Enjoy the pics!

I Would Die for That

I try not to post too much about our infertility journey. I have come to find that it is a rather depressing subject that I try not to focus on. I have learned to accept the situation that we are in and find enjoyment in what we do have and try not to focus too much on what we don't. I have also heard a quote recently which really did make a lot of sense. "God laughs at those who make plans." I have come to realize that God's plans will take care of us and although his plans do not seemed to be aligned with ours right now, I trust he will come through for us and bless us with a family one day.
I did want to post this video that I came across because it really brought me to tears listening to the lyrics and watching the messages that the women were holding up throughout the video. Warning, please be armed with tissues when playing!!!

Another HGTV obsession...

I love the show "Get it Sold". The host, Sabrina Soto, is so talented, her before and afters are amazing. Here is an amazing room she did from tonight's show. I really love the accent pillows and panels that she used for this room. The HGTV website even provides a listing of the products that she used in the episode, most items were from Target or IKEA. The panels featured in this picture were from Target. I also love the lamps she chose for this room. You can't really see them from this picture so I copied a picture over from Target's website. So cute!!!!

Rate my Space

I love Rate my Space on the HGTV homepage. There are some awesome decorating ideas on here from your everyday person posting pictures of their homes. This kitchen is so beautiful, I had post a few pics. The two-tone panels are making me want to switch my great room/kitchen window panel choice again. I haven't bought the JCP drapes yet so we shall see. I should just by them both and see what works best. Here are the pics of this awesome kitchen courtesy of Rate My Space.

What to do with this space?

I am in need of some decor advice. I have a huge wall that faces out into our greatroom/kitchen and the builder put the darn thermostat right in a place where I could be adding an awesome accent piece. I was thinking of putting an iron scroll in the center of the wall above the thermostat. How would this look? To high? I think if I center it between the thermostat and the ceiling it should look OK. Any ideas?

So I did some shopping today...

I confirmed today why I *heart* Ann Taylor LOFT/Ann Taylor. Lately I have been feeling so drab and sick of all of my clothes that I needed some serious retail therapy, especially now since we are going to Myrtle Beach in a few weeks. Here are are few things I picked up today.
