My vision of my master bedroom is slowly coming together. I officially decided to move the crystal ball lamps from the great room to the master bedroom. I love these lamps and after a month of looking at them in the great room, I just didn't think they worked. They just felt more like a "bedroom" type lamp. Plus I think they go fantastic with my new comforter. The comforter is a whole other story. I have been lusting after the Restoration Hardware set ever since we broke ground on this home, however, spending $600 on bedding just wasn't going to work. At first I thought I hit the jackpot with a duvet I found on smartbargains.com. I thought this was it! My search was over! But, to my surprise, I found a complete comforter set from Marshalls which included the pillows, shams, bedskirt, everything! So back went the duvet. What the room is still missing is my new bedroom set from Canopy, window treatments, and a bench. That will all come in time, hopefully not too much time! :)
We finally hung up my pier one iron scroll. I think I bought this thing on clearance last fall when we were building our home and it is finally up. It came already painted in a chocolate brown so Jeff was nice enough to spray paint it black yesterday. It is now finally up above the basement door! This door faces out into the living room so I thought it would be a nice place to hang it. Enjoy!
Ugh, I can't believe I am writing this but the 6th IUI didn't work. I now have to go through a diagnostic lap surgery to see what the heck is going on in there. I am so nervous, I have been thinking about nothing else. The surgery is this Friday so I am happy to be doing it right away so I do not have to drive myself too crazy thinking about it. I pray they don't find anything wrong, I keep imagining the worse case scenario and just need to be more positive. This is the very last test for me so hopefully we will go away with more answers since all we seem to have these days is questions.
I am honestly thinking of purchasing this bedroom set from Walmart's Canopy line. It has received great reviews and shipping is free! I just can not seem to justify spending a ton of money on a new bedroom set right now with all of the other furniture we need to buy. Especially they way I change my mind, I am sure in 5 years I will be moving on to the next big thing anyway. My plan of attack is just to buy one piece at a time. The nightstands are going to be ordered first. My nightstand right now is an old book shelf from Jeff's grandma's house and his is an old plant stand. Not exactly adult furniture but we are getting there!
We went to a benefit on Friday with a few neighbors and had such a great time. Part of the reason for the good time is that we won a new digital camera!!! I was so excited we really needed one! I purposely put most of our raffle tickets on this prize so I was so happy that we won! I thought I would try out the new camera taking pictures of the new town homes they just opened up in our neighborhood. Enjoy!
I haven't blogged too much recently about our infertility journey. There are several reasons to why that is, primarily, because no wants to know every time I get my period. I also try not to focus on it so much since we are blessed in so many other ways. We have had a great summer and have spent a lot of it getting to know our new neighborhood and the wonderful neighbors we have living in our subdivision. Summer is definitely a cure for the infertility blues so to speak, there is so much more to do and it takes the focus off of the heartbreaking journey that we have been dealing with.
I wanted to write an update just to let you know how we are doing as well as a reason to document our journey in hopes that I will look back on this and think, wow, remember when we were dealing with that?
We had our IUI#6 with Femera on Friday and it was by far the best one we have had so far. I O'd dead on Day 14 and Jeff's numbers were double of what any of our previous IUI's have been. We felt the secret for the great numbers were that we abstained for a few days longer this cycle due to the fact that I O'd two days later than usual. Hopefully this will be the winning combination for us. If not, we have a few decisions we need to make. The doctor only gave us a prescription for 6 IUI's and that is all he will do. Statistical studies show that if it hasn't worked after 6, this treatment will not work for us. We have two choices, have the laproscopy surgery to rule me out once and for all or just move on to the injectibles. The laproscopy is the absolute last test that I need to have to detect our infertility diagnosis. All other tests so far have showed both of us as normal. Neither option sounds like a good time, one involved cutting me open and the other involves myself or Jeff stabbing me with a needle. I have decided to go with the lap surgery before moving on to the injectibles. This way we will know once and for all if I have endometriosis or any kind of random scarring or cysts that are interfering with us getting pregnant. I have ZERO symptoms of endometriosis so I am praying that this is not our problem, however, a primary symptom of endometriosis is infertility so you just never know. I still can not believe that we actually consider ourselves infertile. We got pregnant on our own on the fourth month of trying!!!! Who knew that we would even be dealing with this issue. It is so hard to say what is causing our issues, did we just get extremely lucky the first time around? Is my age now playing a factor? I was 31 when we started trying and I just now turned 34. I can't imagine that is helping our cause at all even though my FSH and other hormone levels are all within normal range. I guess we will find out in a few weeks. Please say a few prayers for us.
We went to the Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick concert this weekend with the new neighbors and had such a blast! There were 15 of us that rode down in a limo bus. The limo bus was definitely the way to go. We parked in the front lot, beat the crowds going in, and then didn't have to sit in an hour of traffic on the way home. I have to admit I was a little apprehensive at first when I heard that Steve Perry was no longer the lead singer of Journey. Here I was thinking that the songs were not going to be anything like what I remembered. Boy was I wrong, their new lead singer was fantastic!!!! If you closed your eyes, he was Steve Perry without a doubt! We also lucked out on the weather. It rained all day before the concert but Jeff was the hero and brought a tarp to lay underneath the blanket. You could definetly spot the ones who did not have tarps with them, they were the ones walking around with the wet behinds!!!!
Us on the bus on the ride down to Blossom.
