Happy New Year!

We spent most of the day hanging around the house, completing a few projects, and even unpacked a little more! I had a few boxes with home decor items from the last house that I am trying to find a home for. Even after a year, it's still a work in progress. I finally found a space for my Pier One Iron Plaque. I really loved this thing, I bought it a year ago when it was on clearance and before we moved into the house. It was so big though, it was hard to find a place for it. I finally decided on our service hallway. The builder installed this cute little bench in the hallway and I have never had an opportunity to show it off yet.




I know everyone will be busy making their 2009 new years resolutions/goals. I have a few of my own!

1. First priority is to lose the 10 pounds of "baby weight" that I have gained without the benefit of the baby. I know everyone who knows me is saying I am nuts. No, I am not, I am just blessed with being tall so it doesn't look like much. Trust me, I have FIVE pairs of work pants that have been pushed to the back of the closet because they are too tight to wear to work. From all the fertility meds, surguries, and pregnancy I had to deal with in 2008, my workouts took a back seat and it is apparent!!! I just want to tone back up again and lose a few so at least I can wear my own clothes again! Since we are taking a break on the baby front until we get more test results, now is the time to focus on me again.

2. Get my real estate license. I have always wanted to do this, it's an interest of mine that I can't seem to let go of, so I signed up for a class at Lakeland Community College! I am so excited, it starts on January 14th and it is for Real Estate Finance. I am not quite sure what I would like to do with it just yet, perhaps become an agent for a more flexible work schedule when we do actually have a family. Or, if we ever decide to buy investment property one day, this is also something good to have. Having more knowledge and a reputable license on my resume is never a waste.

3. Run another race. I had a great time running my first 5K that I would love to do it again.
