37 Weeks

How far along? 37 weeks - Full term

Total weight gain/loss: 35 lbs. Again, more than I wanted to gain but I haven't gained much these past few weeks, I think I have finally topped out.

Maternity clothes? Yes, and I am ready to burn them along with my black patent leather flats. I started to put away my Summer maternity clothes into a plastic tub and it felt so good. Not because I am tired of wearing maternity clothes, because it marks the end of my pregnancy. I can't believe that I am at a point where I am wrapping stuff up, putting things away, and on the horizon of life after pregnancy!!!

Stretch Marks: Still none to report! Thank you Mom for the great genes! :)

Sleep: I should probably be thankful that I do sleep even though it is interrupted by constant bathroom breaks. I also have days here and there where I am exhausted and get wiped out so easily. I came home from work on Monday and felt like I was back in the first trimester again. Jeff was nice enough to make us dinner, I didn't have the energy to get off of the couch. I probably watched several hours of HGTV trying to recover from the workday.

Best moment this week: I went to Babies R Us this weekend and bought Jillian the Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Soothe & Glow Seahorse recommended by Alissa at All About Molly. I decided to play it for her by holding it up to my belly. She loved it!!! She has moved around every time I have played it for her, it's adorable. I plan on playing it for her every night before I go to bed until she comes, we'll see if she recognizes it when we finally bring her home.

Jeff also painted her bathroom this weekend, her bathroom and nursery are just about finished. I can't wait to post pics of the final result!

Movement: She still has her busy days and her sleepy days. Yesterday she was a busy little baby and today she has been napping most of the day. Poor little girl tuckered herself out. She is generally starting to slow down a little because she is running out of room. My doctor recommended counting at least ten movements a day. She always seems to exceed this even on her slow days. She still favors my right side. Every now and then she will creep up towards the middle and kick my ribs but she always settles back down to my side.

Food cravings: I haven't had too many cravings lately. My appetite has certainly slowed down thankfully to a pre-pregnancy state. Every now and then I will crave red meat more than likely due to my border line anemic diagnosis that I received a few weeks ago. My friend Tina introduced me to Five Guys Burger and Fries and all I can say is yum! I have only had this meal twice during my pregnancy thankfully because I know better, however, I am meeting Tina and my friend Susie there this week for lunch. Needless to say, I am looking forward to it and so is my baby girl!!!!

Gender: Girl! We have had monthly ultra sounds since 20 weeks because of the amniotic band and her gender has never been a question.

Labor Signs: I have started to have a few Braxton Hicks contractions. They honestly feel like she is just stretching really hard but when I feel my whole belly tighten, I know it's not her. I also had a few on the bottom side of my belly as well. Nothing to get too excited about though unfortunately. I only get about one a day. I do have my first internal exam tomorrow so maybe there will be some progress to report!!!

Belly Button in or out? Still out, it's to a point where it doesn't even look like a nose sticking out anymore, it's just completely flat. Will my belly button ever look the same again?

What I miss: I will never take my pregnancy for granted, however, I am still a normal girl and find myself missing so many things lately. My regular clothes, heals, shopping by myself at normal stores like Banana Republic and Ann Taylor, wine, diet pop, a turkey sandwich from Subway just to name a few.

What I am looking forward to: finally meeting my baby girl!! She could be here any day now!

Weekly Wisdom: I can't think of anything in particular except for the recommendation of the adorable Fisher Price Seahorse. It's been fun playing it for her, I hope she really is enjoying it!!!!

Milestones: Making it to full term!!!

Take care,

  1. Congrats on the little one that is on her way. Your life will never be the same again. Enjoy every minute because it goes by fast. I should know, I turned around and I have a 15 yr. old son who is in 10th grade. YIKES!

  3. Congrats on being full term! Can't wait to see pics of the finished nursery. And on the stripping, it was very... uncomfortable to say the least. I am still pregnant, but they say it can take a few days for it to be effective-- we're on day 4. With Thompson, I had mine stripped on a Monday and my water broke on a Saturday. So??? Good luck at your appt today!

  4. You are so right about her possibly being here any day now. We had no indication that our little Andrew would arrive early. Perfect pregnancy but he was ready to get out of there! He was born at 37 weeks, 2 days! Good luck!

  5. Doing a full term dance for you!!! So exciting! I had Mason at 37w4d, so be prepared! ;)
