Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!

I just wanted to write a quick post thanking everyone who responded to my Sleep Deprived post below. I really took your advice to heart and decided to try the earlier bedtime. It worked!!!! We gave Jillian a bath at 7:30, right before her 8:15pm feeding. We also used for the first time the Johnson & Johnson's Lavender bath. Jill passed out after she ate and Jeff gently swaddled her and put her to bed in her crib. She didn't wake up again until 2am! Five hours of sleep, and right through her fussy time. I couldn't be more greatful to you all for your encouraging advice and support. We are going to try this again tonight and hope that this soon becomes our new routine. I also took your suggestion and ordered "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child." I can't wait for it to come. Again, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart from taking the time to write such encouraging and supportive words. They helped!!!

  1. I just read this post and the one before. I agree that an earlier bedtime helps! Once baby gets over tired...forget about it! :)

Our little ones always had bath at 6:30, feeding at 7:00 and bedtime at 7:30. I was amazed that they slept over 12 hours with this schedule! Hope it continues to work for you!

  2. Yay! I'm so happy to hear the earlier bed time worked! I pray it does become your new routine, the time to wind down and hang out with your husband is so important for a moms sanity. At least for mine! Ha! :) Keep us updated how it continues!

  3. That's great about your little girl's sleep going better. :-)I wish we could have an earlier bedtime for our little boys, but it's just not possible for us, as we have so much going on in the evenings several nights a week. My 6 month old does get very tired in the evening about an hour before we can get him home to bed. :-/
I personally do not have 12 hour stretches as a sleep goal for our baby, since as a breastfeeding mom, I would be worried about my milk supply if I let him go longer than 8 or 9 hours. Not that that has happened yet. Haha

  4. So happy that your night went well, I hope it continues. We have the same routine, 7:30 bath, 8:00 boob, 8:30 bed. The nights that we stick to that, Jackson sleeps better. Getting him off routine can make for a long night!
