Great Room Window Help

Thanks to everyone who commented on my kitchen window post. I ended up ordering the bamboo blind from Overstock.com. Unfortunately, the blind that I received looked nothing like the photo on-line. The blind was actually green. Needless to say, it is going back and I need to order another style. Hopefully I will have that done sometime today so I can have Jeff install it by this weekend. It is so disappointing when you order something on line and it's nothing like you want.

I now need help with my great room windows. I literally stare at them all day long and they really need some window treatments, I really think it would warm up the room. There is no separation between our great room and kitchen so I am struggling with the decision on whether or not I should purchase the same curtains as what I have hanging in my kitchen, or just compliment the kitchen curtains. Here is what our kitchen curtains look like now, they are Pottery Barn Silk grommet curtains.

Should I purchase more of these or go with something like these? I would love to know what you all think. I am also open to other ideas so keep them coming!!!

  1. Since it is really like one open room I would purchase another set of the same curtain to keep everything consistent.

And I do hate when an online purchase isn't what I thought, very aggravating!

  2. I agree with Nikki! I would purchase a similiar pair to the ones you have to keep it consistent!

  3. My vote is for matching panels since the windows are so close to each other, but if you really want to break it up, I'd do something that's not solid. Either the second (lighter) option of the two tone, but I'd do something dark brown with a light pattern - like a trellis or geometric print - to tie the windows together but still make an obvious distinction between them.

  4. I like the different color to set the room apart.

  5. Oooh! I love the two tone curtains, especially the lighter ones. I think they would complement and not look matchy matchy!
