Cleveland

As you know, I would love to move to the South one day to escape the Cleveland Winters, however, life here in the Summer isn't all that bad. First of all, we are so blessed to live by Lake Erie. A beautiful Great Lake that stretches across the whole Cleveland area. I specifically live in a suburb that borders the Lake which makes for a lot fun things to do. I bet you didn't realize that I have a huge beach fifteen minutes from my subdivision:

Where we enjoy beautiful sunsets:

We are also very fortunate to have several friends who own boats. You can dock your boat at our local yacht club and take a thirty minute boat ride to downtown Cleveland where there are several bars and restaurants who will cater to boaters.

Boating with friends:

We also have three major league sports teams. I love sports and couldn't imagine living somewhere that didn't have any major league sports teams. The CAVS are in the playoff right now and I know that LeBron is going to take us all of the way!!! He is an amazing story and an inspiration to all Clevelanders.

Nothing says Summer than watching the Cleveland Indians on a warm Summer day.

My sister and I at a game:

One thing I have noticed ever since I began blogging is that I don't meet too many bloggers from Cleveland. If you are from the area, please stop by and say hello and leave a comment about what you love about Cleveland. The snow is finally gone for good and the warm days of Summer will be here before you know it! It's my favorite time of year and I can't wait to start making a few Cleveland Summer memories with Jillian and hopefully take her to her first Indians game!!!

  3. I don't live in Cleveland, but I'm from Northeast Ohio, and I miss Indians baseball! The Padres just don't cut it :)

  4. Cleveland looks like a nice town. I'm always amazed at the size of Lake Eerie. It just seems like a lake would cover a few acres but that thing is like a small ocean!

  5. I am from Florida and I just moved to a suburb of Cincinnati Ohio and I am ready to move back to the south. LOL!

The winter is just not worth a nice summer. I will have my first summer up here this year but I would rather have hot weather all the time. I don't know how you do it!

  6. I'm not from Cleveland but my grandpa was suppose to play ball for the Indians but became a pastor instead.

Anywho, thanks for the comment. I was worried about her chunky legs so I asked the Dr. if she is too chunky and she said she is right on track for herself. :)

  7. What a great POST. You did an outstanding job showing some great places for our Cleveland. I'm on the West Side... in Strongsville. I love the seasons. I love the snow but get sick of it by February and March. I love when April comes! Our weather has its ups and downs but I LOVE THE CHANGE! I do not care for the humidity of Florida or the same blue skies in California. We get to have Hot Chocolate and curl up to a fire at a ski lodge. We get the to hear the crunch of the falling leaves in the Fall. We also get the muddy snow but because of those days we get to appreciate beautiful days like today! I am thinking of starting a blog... I may contact you for some pointers. Once again... great post! Give Jillian a hug... Nancy from OHIO

  8. I'm from Wadsworth outside of Akron. I moved here a couple of years ago from Pittsburgh. Lets just say football season is not fun in our house with my husband being a lifelong Browns fan. I managed the Bath and Body Works in Mentor when I first moved here but the commute was too long. I saw you were at Aurora Farms a few days ago..we shop there often. I'll need to visit your beach this summer..I never realized how nice the beaches around Lake Erie are.

  9. Cleveland rocks, but...

Charlotte has lakes, sunsets, friends with boats, and professional sports. Everything Cleveland has minus the snow!! So, when are you moving?? :-)

  19. I'm from Southern Ohio and living in Columbus now.

My brother goes to school and plays soccer for Notre Dame College in South Euclid. We don't get up to Cleveland to visit very often. I hope to go to a Cavs game next fall, since it'll be his last semester up there!

  20. I'm from the Akron/Canton area but also love going to Indians baseball games and watching our Cavs!
You posted some great pictures representing the city! I just wish our winters weren't so darn long!

  21. Just found your blog though Kelly's Show Us Your Life. I am in Columbus! So good to "meet" another Ohio blogger!

  22. We live in Columbus, but we lived in Streetsboro for a year back in 1999. Do you know where that is? I've been to a Browns game, a Cavs game and an Indians game. :)

  23. I was just checking out Kelly's Korner and seeing where people posted that they are from. We live in Wooster so that's somewhat close to Cleveland:)! My husband spent part of his growing up years in Bay Village but I'm originally from Illinois.

  24. I was born and raised in Parma. I have lived in Chicago for 3 years now, but Cleveland will ALWAYS be my home.

My favorite thing about Cleveland is Playhouse Square Center!!

  25. I found you through Kelly's Korner. I live in the Wooster area which isn't to far from Cleveland. We love to go to Indian's games in the summer time. I would love to go to the Flat's sometime and check out Melt Bar & Grill soon. I have a few friends from college that live in the area. Great to find a fellow blogger from Ohio.

  26. Found your blog specifically since you wrote Cleveland in the blog hop!

I too am from Cleveland, well the suburbs not too far away from you. I used to be a nanny in Bay Village and loved the area - although when hubby and I decided to buy a house we came back to our small village south of Cleveland. I will write a post soon since I'm just finding this blog hop and think it's a great idea!!!!!

I will follow you now that I have another Northern Ohio buddy who blogs ( most of my IRL friends do not get it )

I have to admit you highlighted the city beautifully especially when Cleveland sometimes gets a bad rap. I love the season, especially spring but by the end of Jan I'm done with winter and long for a trip south! I always contemplate moving south but the family and kiddos are young and in school so moving is not an option right now!

  27. My dad is from Cleveland and I grew up going there several times a year visiting my grandparents. Definitely holds a special place in my heart. Loved walking to Shaker Square, taking the Rapid Transit downtown to go shopping, and our annual trip to Cedar Point! My parents retired and moved to Savannah, GA where I live with my family. My dad always said he wanted to escape the cold winters and he went from Cleveland, to DC (where I grew up) and finally to Savannah. You'll make it south one day!

  28. I found your blog from Kelly's Korner. I'm from MI originally, but currently we're living outside of Columbus, OH. Needless to say I'm a huge fan of the Great Lakes too! I just started a blog and I'm still trying to get the hang of it. It's nice to find other bloggers from the same area though!

  29. Cleveland definitely gets a bad rap! And the winters do stink! I'm originally from FL, born and raised and thankfully, I'm going home in 3 weeks! But, the Cleveland area really does have a lot to offer in all seasons. I love the Metroparks and the kids and I will be coming to Huntington beach hopefully as soon as it opens!! Thanks so much for finding me and linking up with the S&R weekend hop! I'll be talking about a lot of things in CLE this summer on my blog. TTYS,
