It's that time of year again and my neighbors are already out and about Booing the neighborhood! We received our Boo on Wednesday. I was walking down the stairs at 6am Wednesday morning and saw a orange and black sack on our front porch. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me at that hour but sure enough, it was our Boo! Whoever dropped off this Boo was so incredibly sweet and thoughtful.
The whole sack was filled with items for Jillian. A new Halloween outfit, Halloween legwarmers, children's books and a boo banner for our fireplace. I can't wait to find out who booed us because I owe them a huge thank you for being so thoughtful.
Booing has been a tradition in our neighborhood for the past three years. Here is the letter that comes with our boo package, it reads:
The Air is cool, the season fall,
Soon Halloween will come to all.
Ghosts and goblins, spooks galore
Tricky witches at your door
The spooks are after things to do,
In face a spook brought this to you!!!
the treats that came with this short note,
Are yours to keep, enjoy them both
The excitement comes when friends like you,
Will copy it and make it two
We'll all have smiles upon our faces,
No one will know who "Booed" who places!!!
Just two short days to work your spell,
Keep it secret, hide it well.
Please join the fun, the season's here,
Just spread the "Boo's" and Halloween cheer
YOU HAVE JUST BEEN BOOED
Please keep it going by following these directions:
Enjoy your treat!
Place the BOO sign on your front door or a visible window.
Within 2 days, make 2 copies of this note, make 2 treats and 2 BOO signs
Secretly deliver to 2 neighbors without a BOO.
Keep an eye on nearby front doors to see how far and fast it spreads by Halloween.
Does your neighborhood boo each other?

Yes, we love getting Booed! It's such a cute idea! What nice stuff someone gave you in your little package. She will look adorable in that little outfit!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a neat idea. We get booed at school (teachers) but not in our neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cool idea! I've never heard of that before.
ReplyDeleteMy neighborhood doesn't do it, but I know of plenty that do. We did do it at my old employer and it was so fun! =)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Love all the gifts! I may have to start one for our neighborhood!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE!!! We live in the city and for some reason they don't do it here, but eventually we will have to move to the burbs (for schools) and the area we are looking at does it! I think its the cutest idea ever! How do you find out who did it?
ReplyDeleteThey also do Eggs and Kegs for Easter and I think thats pretty clever too!
Our subd. Boos too! It's so fun! All the stuff Jillian got is ADORABLE!! You must post pics of her in her outfits.

ReplyDeleteThat's so fun! I've never really heard of Booing, and I don't think any of our neighbors know each other well enough to do it, but it sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a boo package! Holy cow, so jealous! We never have anything that good. May be time to start a new tradition!
