What's Up Wednesday ~ September 2015 Edition

Happy Wednesday friends!  I hope you are all having a great week!  It's the last Wednesday of the month which means I am linking up with a few of my favorite girls today... Mel, Shay and Sheaffer for a little What's Up Wednesday.

What We're Eating This Week

It was feeling a bit Fall yesterday so I decided to bust out the Crock Pot and make my Easy Crockpot Shredded BBQ Chicken.  This is truly starting to become a staple in our home because it is so versatile!  You can serve it as a sandwich or over with rice and vegetables like I did yesterday.  THAT was yummy and looking forward to eating it again tonight.  It is such a simple meal with so many possibilities!

What I Am Reminiscing About

Ever since Jillian started Kindergarten last month, I have been thinking a lot about her as a baby and how much she has changed.  We truly are in a different stage of life now having a school age child and find myself missing this sweet baby every now and again.

Kindergarten has also brought on another new stage for this sweet girl...the visits from the Tooth Fariy!   This is the second tooth she has lost in a matter of only a few weeks. Jillian's Tooth Fairy Pillow can be found here.

What I Am Loving

Curling my hair!  This may seem odd but I finally mastered the art of curling my hair.  I know I am a little late to the party, but I was a hair straightener addict for years and just couldn't seem to get comfortable with it.  It would take me forever trying to figure out how to get that "messy curl", hold the rod the right way and how to style it once I had a head full of curls.  Half the time my curls would be gone in a matter of hours after spending over an hour curling it.  After watching more Youtube Videos that I can count, I finally got it down to a Science.  What did we ever do befor Youtube? I have found with my hair that a few issues I was having was that I wasn't allowing my curls to cool long enough and to lightly break up the curls with a large pick, not a brush.  I am loving this new style and feel that it is now easier to do than wrestling with my flat iron.  I also can go 3 days without washing my hair with this style, I now just re-curl, fluff and go.  And when it comes to my thick and unmanageable hair, any time I find a easier way to style it is cause for celebration!

We all got free headshots at the Rodan + Fields convention, so thrilled to finally have a professional picture taken with my curly hair!

What We've Been Up To

We have been very blessed with a beautiful September and have been enjoying all of the fun Fall activities that our area has to offer.  This past weekend we spent the day at Patterson's Fun Fest which has so many fun activities for kids.  My babies loved the slides and the tractor rides.

I spent a few days in Austin, Texas for the Rodan and Fields Convention which was pretty much the highlight of my September.  I had an amazing time and can't wait for next years Convention in Vegas!!!

What I Am Reading

On my flight to Austin, I finished reading "The One and Only" by Emily Giffin.  I was so excited that I posted about it on Instagram which actually received a like from Emily Giffin herself!!  How cool is that?

Love her and love all of her books!

I absolutely love reading personal development books and currently reading "How to Win Friends and Influence People" and currently have this in my Amazon Shopping Cart..."The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olson.
My monthly goals are to read one "Beach Read" and one Personal Development book a month.

What I Am Working On

I am taking an extra effort lately to eat better and exercise more.  My Sister In Law recently became a Beachbody Coach and I participated in one of her 21 Day Fix support groups.  It wrapped up a few weeks ago and it was wonderful getting back into a regular workout routine again.  Regular workouts for me was definitely one thing that certainly fell to the wayside after leaving my job to become a Stay At Home Mom.  I now workout 4-5 times a week and I am feeling so much stronger and my clothes are also fitting so much better.  I only lost 4 pounds but know that there were inches lost as well just by how much better my clothes are fitting.   Another thing I am truly working on is blogging more.  Now with Summer over and that we are more into a routine, I am trying to fit blogging more often into my already crazy routine.  A new Blog Header is in the works so stay tuned for that!

What I Am Excited About

Decorating for Fall!  I took out a few things this weekend and realized a trip to Home Goods and Hobby Lobby might be in store.  Target had some cute items too which I already added to my décor.

What I am Wearing

I loved visiting Austin this month which gave me so many amazing opportunities to dress up!!!  My go to dress up clothes during the Summer are typically maxi's and tank tops, skinnies and wedges.  Looking forward to busting out the leggings, tunics, cardigans and scarves for the Fall!

What I am Doing This Weekend
I am getting my hair trimmed and colored this weekend.  Yay!!  Who doesn't love a fresh cut and color? For some family time, The Holden Arboretum is having a fun Fall Activity ~ The Goblins in Garden this Weekend which I am hoping we can attend.  We have never been so I am looking forward to making this an annual tradition for years to come.

What I am Looking Forward To Next Month/Favorite Halloween Tradition

There are so many things to get excited about for October! Our calendar is jam packed with Fall festivities with the kids.  We are so fortunate to live in such a family friendly area that has so much going on for families!!

Every year we go to the Haunted Hayrides at the Lake Farm Park, Mapleside Farms Pumpkin Village and Hullabaloo at the Strongsville Rec Center.  And who doesn't love Halloween for the fun jammies?  Those are a fun favorite tradition in our home!
Hope you all have an amazing Wednesday!

XOXO
