Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Mother's Day! I have come to learn over the years that this day is not only special for all Mom's, but for those who also dream of being a Mom. How did I feel being that it was my first Mother's Day as a Mom? It was wonderful. Jeff went above and beyond to make my day special. He bought me the most beautiful card and even little Jillian must have made a trip to Target without me noticing to buy Mommy a card.

Jeff also surprised me with a beautiful new camera! I have been wanting a new camera ever since Jillian was born and my dream finally came true! He kept telling me all weekend how he wished that he could buy me a new camera since I wanted one so badly. However, they were too expensive, not in the budget at this time, not quite sure which one to get me, the guy at Best Buy pissed him off so he wasn't going to buy me one just to spite him, etc. So you can imagine my surprise when I opened up my gift and there it was!!! He even went to the trouble to take me to Bed, Bath & Beyond to pick out new Great Room curtains and a curtain rod as my Mother's Day gift. Anyway, I can't wait to learn how to properly use it! Jeff and I are signed up for a beginners camera class this Saturday at Dodd Camera and I can not wait!!!!

I hosted a Mother's Day brunch on Sunday at our house for both my family and Jeff's. With the unexpected arrival of the twins, my parents were not able to make it. I was pretty disappointed that I wouldn't be spending Mother's Day with my own Mom but it was obviously for a good reason! My sister was also busy taking her husband to the airport that day so I was grateful that my brother Brian, and his wife Stephanie, were able to make it. Since I was crazy busy running around and playing host, I didn't get too many pictures of Jillian and I, however, we were able to snap a few just before her afternoon nap.

As you can see, she just did not quite get the significance of the day and was pretty ticked off that I was making her pose for a picture.

We tried to pull out the paci and snap a picture but she wanted no part of it, so here we are, paci and all!

I also wanted to wish my Sister-In-Law Amanda a Happy first Mother's Day! I wish we could be with you, Jason, and your beautiful babies!!! Hopefully we will get the opportunity to meet them this Summer and finally get to visit Arkansas!

It just doesn't get any better than this, God is so good!

Being a Mom has been nothing like I had imagined and everything I had imagined all at once if that even makes sense. I knew I would love my baby girl so much, I just never realized how much. I knew that I would be tired and sleep deprived, I just never realized how much. I new that being a mom would open me to a new world of laughter and sacrifices, I just never realized how much. The person that I was before a Mom certainly no longer exists. I learn more and more about myself every day. I accomplish things on a daily basis that I never thought I could and things that used to a priority to me are just no longer that. Being a Mom has been an amazing journey so far and I know it's just the beginning.

  4. Happy Mother's Day, Karen! I also got the same camera for Mother's Day!! It's my mother's day/birthday present (june) -- actually, I got a "raincheck" bc Best Buy was out of them, so did you get it at Dodd?? Jeff was thinking it might be better to get it there so I could take a class on how to use it -- let me know!! I want to go buy it this weekend. Glad your day was so special :-)
